The show stealer, for those keeping score at home, was the half-Gambian, half-Italian 17-year-old Beatrice Verzier. “I can tell you, she is very, very good,” said Claude Nobs, CEO and founder of the Montreux Jazz Festival, who was heading to LA to stay with his old friend Quincy Jones. “And the last time I was sitting in this room, twenty years ago, I was watching Ella Fitzgerald,” he reminisced.”
